Volunteering at the Global Moot Corp Competition is a great opportunity to see firsthand how successful venture capitalists and entrepreneurs judge potential new venture investments.
The Global Moot Corp Competition involves a great deal of logistics and coordinated effort, and reliance on volunteers is critical to making the event come across as a professional, well managed event. As a volunteer, you are the face of Moot Corp and the University of Texas.
Below is the list of volunteer needs for the Competition:
Wednesday, April 30 – Welcoming Reception
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Austin, 500 N. IH 35
- Need greeters to help with team check-in = 2 volunteers
Thursday, May 1 – Feedback Rounds
8:30 AM – noon
Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Austin, 500 N. IH 35
- Need a timekeeper for each Feedback Round room and one to staff information table = 9 volunteers
Friday, May 2 – Opening Rounds
8 AM – noon
McCombs School of Business
- Need a scorekeeper for each Opening Round room = 8 volunteers
- Need a timekeeper for each Opening Round room = 8 volunteers
- Need people to staff the Information table from 8 AM – 5 PM = 2 people at a time; can run shifts
Friday, May 2 – Business Plan Delivery
- Need people to deliver the business plans to the Semifinals judges = 2 volunteers
Volunteers must have their own car. Each person will need to deliver business plans to five locations and timing is of the essence since the judges only have the afternoon to review the plans. The plans will be ready to go at 2:30 PM.
Saturday, May 3 – Semifinals
8:30 AM – noon
McCombs School of Business
- Need a scorekeeper for each Semifinals room = 2 volunteers
- Need a timekeeper for each Semifinals room = 2 volunteers
- Need people to staff the Information table from 8 AM – 3 PM = 2 people at a time; can run shifts
Saturday, May 3 – Finals
2:00 PM – 6 PM
McCombs School of Business
- Need a scorekeeper for the Finals = 1 volunteer
- Need a timekeeper for the Finals = 1 volunteer
- Need people to direct attendees to the Finals location = 3 volunteers
